why is it good?
This is a good book because on top of its good story the book teaches values of racail tolerance and not to juge somone by there cover. this story gives knowlege of what it was like for a african amiracan man in the 60's (befor the civil rights) . the story also reflects on being nice. And helps be less jugemental.

Gossip Girl: Nobody does is better
Plot Summary:
In this book Jenny's desire to go to boarding to school becomes a big deal. After pictures of her, The Raves' drummer and guitarist show up on page six, her principle decides she should attend a different school somewhere else. Blair's mother has just given birth to Yale, and now she is going into postnatal depression. This forces Blair to move out of the house and in with Vanessa. (Quite the odd pairing) Nate and Blair are finally in a stable relationship, when all of a sudden Nate and his friends take Captain Archibald's (Nate's father) yacht to Bermuda without telling anyone. By the time that Nate returns home, Blair has already moved on to Stanford Parris 5, though only because she thinks that he can get her into Yale. Isabel and Kati plan the whole senior class girls sleep over, and at the party Blair finds that she has been accepted to Yale. With her great news, she runs up stairs to find Nate and Vanessa kissing in the bath tub!
What did you like most?
I really enjoyed how realistic this book was. The book also captured my attention in the first chapter. I also liked how at the end of the book it leads you on the the next book. They are a continuum of stories.
Who would you recommend this book to?
I would recommend this book to any girl who likes really "gossipy" stories. This story really pulls you into it.
My rating of this book would be about a 7 because there are a lot of other books in this series, and I like the other ones a little bit better.

CRANK
Crank By Ellen Hopkins
My favorite novel is Crank. It is about a girl named Kristina who is pretty and intelligent. Later in the book she starts to call herself Bree. This is because her whole personality changes. It all starts when he goes to see her father in Albuquerque. She meets a boy named Adam who then begins to take her down all the wrong paths and she will have to fight for her life. This book is good because the author does a great job of making you feel like you are there. There is never a dull moment. This book is full of thrills and suspense. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes thrilling books. I give this book 5 stars.

Kit's Wilderness By David Almond
1) After being away from home, the Watson family returns to Stoneygate to take care of an old family member. When Christopher Watson gets mixed up with John Askew, another boy whos family had worked in the mines of Stoneygate long ago, Askew decides to invite Kit to join him in a game called Death. Along the way, as Kit gets more involved, he meets with other kids of the group and becomes close friends with a girl named Allie Keenan. Kit discovers that the Watson family and the Askew family have been rivals in the game of Death for many years in the past and decides to change that situation between John and him. Together the two boys search for a solution while following the ghosts of their ancestors.
2) This book is great because of the way the author writes out his story and the way he expresses the characters traits. David Almond gives this book a very dark feeling right from the start and makes it deeper as the tale goes along. He goes out of his way to give deep detail to the places and characters for the story.
3) I would recommend this book to teenagers. Especially, to teens who love the idea of having mystery come along in every page and to teens who aren’t afraid of the idea of death and shadows.
4) Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Skeleton Key (Alex Rider series)
My favorite novel is the skeleton key by Anthony Horowitz. It is a series about a young boy by the name of Alex Rider who lives with his uncle. Then one day he is told his uncle has passed away. Then a man explains to him that is uncle was a spy for MI6. So they would like to have Alex work for them also, but he doesn’t really want to at first though he changes his mind because he wants to find his uncles killer. So Alex is pretty cool. He does a lot of missions and gets his mac on.
I find this book to be exceptionally good because there is a lot of death, action and he is only about 16 so you can kind of relate to him.
I would recommend this book to 10 year olds to 20 year olds. It’s not too violent for 10 year old, but it could be a little to childish for a 20 year old.
I would have to rate this book a 5 star. I have not found a better book.

Many Waters
Many Waters
By Madeleine L’Engle
Summary of the story:
Sandy and Dennys, twin brothers, suddenly find themselves in a burning hot desert. They hadn’t noticed the note on the door to their mother’s lab and accidentally messed with an experiment in progress. They’ve gone back in time to a place where they are considered giants and where mammoths still live. Then they find out that “many waters” are coming to flood the desert. They must find a way to get home to their own time, but nobody knows how they can.
Why is this book good?
This book is good because it has suspense, adventure, and excitement. The author is very good with word choice and timing. The style of writing she uses is very interesting.
Who would you recommend this book to?
I would recommend this book to anybody who likes fantasy or science fiction.

Naked by David Sedaris
SUMMARY: Strange, humorous, quirky and dark, Naked by David Sedaris is a collection of a young man's random memoirs. With a fresh style of writing, Sedaris takes you through different stages, the adventures, and misadventures that leave you speechless, contemplative, or laughing out loud. Beginning with a boy's Tourette's and nervous tics on through his long stints of hitchhiking, one of the book's many quirks is that there is no cohesive plot; each chapter is a different, sidesplitting story.
WHAT MAKES THIS BOOK GOOD: I think what makes this this book good, and why I enjoyed it so much is the fact that it is such an unordinary writing style that leaves thoughts in your head, and that is was wittily funny.
RECOMMENDATION: I would recommend this book to someone who is tired of the run-of-the mill fictional story, who wants to read someone new and slightly addiction. Someone who enjoys random, and somewhat offending humor.
5/5 Stars.
